**About the role**
This is a senior leadership role, reporting to the General Manager and a core part of the Executive Team responsible for developing business strategy and enabling the business to deliver the plans.
This is a dual role, providing both strategic direction and day-to-day leadership across all technical functions. With your natural flair and pizzaz, you will inspire your talented team of Developers to be the market ‘dairy shaker uppers’, developing and launching new or improved products based on consumer insights that will contribute significantly towards the business’s sales and profit growth.
Additionally, you will oversee and provide support to the highly competent Quality & Compliance Manager and their team to ensure the right systems and processes are in place, product safety and quality standards are met and all regulatory requirements are adhered to. You and your team will also provide support for process improvements, technical troubleshooting and commissioning of new lines in the factory.
**Skills and experience**
You are a proven people leader who has considerable experience as a Technical or NPD Manager within the food manufacturing sector. What we’re really looking for is:
- Industry experience: You are a food industry technical or development specialist and have been responsible for bringing branded consumer products to market.
- Great leadership skills: Through motivation, delegation, mentoring and empowerment you inspire the development of a high performing team. You have a consultative, inclusive and communicative team style with the ability to delegate effectively.
- While your primary focus is on product and pipeline development, knowledge and experience with Quality Management Systems, ideally within (but not limited to) a high care dairy processing environment, will be advantageous.
- Well-developed problem solving, organisational and planning skills, and good attention to detail.
- Initiative, ability to deal with ambiguity and decisive decision making. You are able to make judgment calls within a fast-paced and dynamic production environment, acting with urgency while maintaining a positive, “can-do” attitude.
- Tertiary Qualification: Ideally in Food Technology, Food Science or similar.
