We are looking for a highly motivated senior nurse to work within the Surgery and Cardiology Resources Nurses team at Waikato Hospital. This would be an ideal position for someone with experience and a keen interest in cardiology.

The Clinical Nurse Specialist role will be based in the Surgery and Cardiology Resources Nurses team and involve you educating, supporting and following up cardiology patients pre and post procedure for primarily elective coronary procedures but supporting the acute patient flow for coronary procedures. You must be confident in your approach and have a comprehensive knowledge of cardiology, with the ability to work independently.

This role requires excellent communication and negotiating skills and the ability to work within the team to achieve optimal outcomes for patients and their whanau.

Required skills & experience you will need to be considered for this role:

- Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- At least 5 years’ experience as a Registered Nurse
- Knowledge of cardiology process and previous cardiology surgical nursing experience
- A current annual practicing certificate
- Completed a Professional Development and Recognition Programme - at proficient and/or above
- Post graduate qualification
- Proven history of advanced assessment skills
- The ability to work independently
- Adaptability, flexibility and agility
