This role is new to the NZ Payments Domain and will operate in a transformational capacity across our ANZ Payments Platforms - Internationally and Domestically. The PSSRE (Payments Support Site Reliability Engineering) Squad will work cohesively as an autonomous unit, but also collaboratively with the already existing independent build and run squads operating at ANZ.

We are looking for a leader who has experience in maintaining and operating in a full stack environment and is dynamic in progressing change whilst maintaining agreed reliability standards. The Lead Engineer will be tasked with driving innovative improvements and an essential cog in delivering and incorporating a high performing function in line with the wider Payments team.

As an SRE Lead Engineer your responsibilities and mind set will embrace a set of engineering approaches to run better production systems. You will take charge of delivering technical engineering knowledge to maintain ANZ’s Payments infrastructure, portraying the discipline to combine software and systems engineering to build and run large-scale massively distributed, fault-tolerant systems. You will play a critical role in ensuring our Payments technology maintains stability and availability to the highest standards to meet the Business Operational and Delivery objectives. In addition you will be an advocate for the principles that the SRE model strives to attain, ensuring that the new technologies and anticipated challenges are met with professionalism and dedication. To ensure ANZ stay ahead of the curve, it is essential that this role is always moving forward and embracing a Continuous Integration Continuous Development pipeline mentality - always striving to operate at the penultimate level whilst adopting new, exciting and potentially challenging methodologies.

You will need to have an ability to build excellent rapport with stakeholders and team members and be well versed in the current technology trends and standards occurring throughout the world.

Ōu Pūkenga? - What will you bring?

5+ Years’ experience as a Site Reliability Engineer or have a full understanding of stack development and maintenance - essentially from a DevOps background

Have a strong understanding of the principles of which DevOps and SRE in particular revolve

10+ years’ experience in managing *nix/Solaris Operations Systems plus supporting technologies such as OEM, OP Centre, OVM, Oracle Cluster within a highly virtualized Environment.

Scripting knowledge with Bourne\Korn shell, Perl, Ruby and Python.

5+ years’ Information Technology experience preferably within the Financial Sector or Fintec knowledge, including Payments and Wholesale Application Suites, and digital platforms.

Operational experience in managing multi tenanted VMWare environments plus sound knowledge and experience with supporting technologies such as RHEL LVM,YUM packaging and patch management, Satellite Server, Openshift and Ansible.

Excellent oral and written communication skills, and capable of effectively interacting with individuals in a broad range of situations.

**Excellent network operational knowledge including**: Wireless networking, datacentre technologies, DNS, virtualisation, load balancing.

Ability to articulate and explain information in a confident manner to peers, customers and management, interacting in a range of circumstances using different techniques.

Ability to work autonomously, deliver to sometimes tight timelines and manage and prioritise conflicting demands and priorities.

Ability to listen and understand content, using reinforcement techniques as appropriate.
