**Te Whiwhinga mahi | The opportunity**
Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering is seeking a fixed-term, full-time Technologist/Senior Technician for 15 months to cover a maternity leave. In this role, you will be providing research support for the Environmental Engineering postgraduate research laboratory and teaching support to MDLS labs.
**The key tasks and experience needed for the position include**:
- Experience of working in a laboratory in a commercial or education setting.
- Experienced in operating, maintaining, and troubleshooting scientific analytical equipment such as GC, GCMS, HPLC, FAAS/MP-AES.
- Experience in analytical chromatography techniques is highly desired.
- Good working knowledge of chemical analysis and sample preparation of different sample matrices.
- Excellent communication skills as you will be working with a wide range of stakeholders
- A positive can-do attitude and a team player nature
Along with running a state-of-the-art laboratory, you will provide strong analytical expertise and training to users who could be academics, students, or commercial users. You will also ensure compliance and health and safety requirements are met.
This is a full time, 37,5 hours per week, fixed term role for 15 months. The salary range for this role is $76,200 - $94,100 per annum depending on experience and qualifications.
