Te whiwhinga mahi | The Opportunity
The primary purpose of the North Island Sarcoma MDM and data coordination - supervisor role is to:
- Support the North Island Sarcoma services by overseeing the coordination of the weekly MDM meeting.
- Oversight over all new referrals received. Working in collaboration with the North Island Sarcoma GP Liaison and Consultants to ensure referrals are triaged and patients case is ready to be discussed at the weekly MDM.
- Providing administrative assistance to all clinical staff attending and contributing to the North Island sarcoma MDM by ensuring that all necessary information is available to support robust decision making.
- Utilisation of all data sources.e.g. CMS, PHS, 3M and patient notes to update patient records and ensure all information is up to date.
- Responsibility for collecting and maintaining an accurate, on-going record of all North Island Sarcoma patient's data who are referred and discussed at the MDM.
- Supervision of the administration team to achieve operational outcomes. Evaluate MDM processes to identify and implement process improvements
Bone and tissue sarcomas are a diverse group of rare cancers that can occur at any age and almost anywhere in the body, making up just 1% of all cancer diagnoses. Delivering the highest quality of care for sarcoma patients is uniquely challenging. It demands the concentration of expertise and experience, collaborative working across the full range of specialities and access to appropriate information and support, for all patients, all tumour types and regardless of geography.
An essential component of ensuring the provision of high quality and comprehensive care for sarcoma patients is the need for multidisciplinary meetings where health professionals from different specialities discuss and recommend options for patients' prospective treatment and care. The MDM and Data Coordinatorn
- Supervisor is a vital role that reports to the Business Manager, and oversees the smooth running of the patient and MDM pathway as well as provision over the data.
To be successful in this role, you will need to have a 'can do' attitude, proven administration skills and an eye for attention to detail. The team will welcome your motivation and positive attitude.
This role is based at Auckland City Hospital, Grafton 40 hours per week 8 hours per day worked over Monday to Friday.
Full Training and a comprehensive Orientation programme will be provided to the right person.
Nga Pūkenga Motuhake | Important Skills
As the ideal person for this role, you will have the following skills and attributes:
- 4+ years' experience in office setting
- Previous work experience in a health care setting and knowledge on working with hospital software systems (advantageous)
- Proficient in MS Office suite software
- Database management experience along with good written, reporting and verbal communication skills
- An understanding of the healthcare sector, specifically cancer services and MDM meetings
