Social Worker, Child Development Service

MidCentral actively seeks Māori into our workforce to reflect the community we serve.
An exciting opportunity has become available within the **Child Development Service for a Social Worker with an interest in working with tamariki/children and their whānau/community support.**
The position is **20 hrs per week** (0.5 FTE).
The successful applicant will provide a high quality social work support and intervention to **children with disabilities and their families/support network** who are referred through the Child Development Service of MidCentral. This includes service access, adjustment to diagnosis, grief and loss support, advocacy, family violence, child safety, and additional psychological issues as identified from and in-depth social work assessment.
This role would suit **an experienced practitioner** who has a clear understanding of what type of services are needed by the children and whānau. Experience in working with a range of community providers and the education sector would be an advantage.
The** Child Development Service** is a regional service based at the Palmerston North Hospital. It is a multi-disciplinary Allied Health service providing a range of assessment, intervention and support services to children with developmental and behavioural concerns and their whānau who reside within the MidCentral district.
