NZCommunity are looking for energetic and motivated people to support people in their own home a few hours a week.
We are seeking energetic permanent part time Whānau Support worker for one of ourDargaville client ideally someone with intellectual disability experience. This position starts at 10 hours guaranteed a fortnight these hours can increase over time as your relationship develops with the client.
What does a Support Worker do?
You will support young people in their home and community to lead fulfilling and meaningful lives to achieve their personal dreams and goals by doing the things they want to do such as going swimming, attending sporting events, arts and crafts, movies or shopping - the list is endless

We're looking for people with the following skills:
Experience working with young people is advantageous
Availability to work after school hours and weekends
Can connect and build a positive relationship with people through provision of consistent support
Are energetic and passionate about supporting people to achieve their goals, hopes and dreams
Have an ability to look beyond presenting barriers and provide experiences that will empower people to live the best life they can
A desire to support people to learn new skills and achieve outcomes
Empathy, respect, and cultural awareness is important in this role as the people we support come from diverse backgrounds with varying needs and interests.
