**Anaesthetics Training Registrar - Midland (2026 Intake)**

**About the Role**

Applications are invited for Anaesthesia Training Registrar positions across Waikato, Rotorua, and Tauranga Hospitals (part of the Midland Anaesthesia Training Scheme).

These roles offer:

- Diverse clinical exposure:Train at Waikato Hospital (New Zealand’s only major hospital with all surgical specialties on one campus and the Midland region’s trauma centre) and secondary-level Rotorua and Tauranga Hospitals.
- Structured training:Protected teaching time (½ day per week), simulation sessions, and mentorship from senior anaesthetists.

**About the Team/Service**

Our Anaesthesia and Pain Medicine team at Waikato Hospital is a collaborative, teaching-focused department with a strong commitment to high standards and professional growth. You’ll join a supportive environment with:

- **Regular teaching programmes**(M&M meetings, journal clubs, and exam preparation for ANZCA trainees).
- **Multidisciplinary collaboration**across theatres, ICU, acute pain services, and outpatient clinics.
- **A**culture of mentorship**, with dedicated Supervisors of Training and opportunities for research and quality improvement (QI) projects.

**About You**

To be considered, you will need:

- A minimum of two years’ post-graduation clinical experience.
- Eligibility to work in New Zealand.
- **Overseas applicants**: Prior anaesthetic training and compliance withMCNZ registration.
