**THE ROLE**
We have an excellent opportunity for the right person to advance their career in laboratory management and join us in our Commercial team, based in our Hamilton Head Office.
The purpose of the Market Sector Manager - Agriculture role is to ensure that the commercial, operational and technology functions in the business work together to deliver an exceptional service and good value for money across all of our market segments.
This role is a part of the Commercial team, focusing on specific Agricultural market segments and therefore contributes significantly to the success of Hill Laboratories. This role will liaise with key stakeholders across all parts of the business, specifically Analytical Technology, Operations, Client Services and key external parties/partners and report directly to the General Manager - Commercial.
**KEY TASKS & RESPONSIBILITIES**:
- Organising and leading routine market segment meetings that include key segment stakeholders to review overall progress within the market sector and to create a forum for the other functional leaders to discuss market sector issues
- Developing the sector strategy annually to achieve agreed revenue and profit targets, training content and collateral (including web content and new method announcements)
- Preparing and executing business models for product and customer categories
- Setting product pricing and performance criteria
- Assessing commercial potential of new services and product ideas
- Participating in industry-centric panels (where possible)
- Managing direct reports (2 Key Account Managers) toward agreed outcomes and revenue targets
**ABOUT YOU**
- Primary industries knowledge and relationships, with a passion for New Zealand agriculture
- A Tertiary degree in Science or 5+ years commercial lab experience
- People management experience
- Ability to work closely with all stakeholders within the business, including technical and IT
- Willingness to travel nationally for customer engagement and conference attendance purposes
- Experience in establishing rapport at senior levels of organisations
- Public speaking competency
