**The Role**

We are seeking an
**Ocean Freight Import Operator** to join our friendly team in
**Auckland**.

This position is responsible for the splitting and registration of Inbound Freight documents, handling of documents for goods in transit and the recording of charges for Inbound freight.

**Key Responsibilities include**:

- Take ownership of shipments, ensuring they are completed on time and accurately within the customers’ expectations
- Clearly understand the customers’ requirements, deadlines and special needs
- Understand the operational cut offs and ensure all documents and processes are completed in time to avoid delays and offloads
- Registration, splitting and inputting of consol, splitting import docs (Prealerts) and saving to scan doc System
- Costing and invoicing Assist with account queries, monitoring cash account Processing credit invoices
- Monitoring and reporting Docs handover Handling special customer schedules
- Processing trans-shipments
- Credit and downgrade confirmations
- Establishing clearance details

**Competencies and Skills required**:

- Sound knowledge of all Import department functions
- An ability to deliver accurate work within deadlines
- Able to multi task, reprioritise, proactive and deal with conflicting issues
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- A strong customer focus
