Rail in Aotearoa is changing. The national rail network is being restored to a resilient and reliable state both in the regions and in our cities. The Government has developed New Zealand’s first Rail Plan to set out the vision and priorities for rail over the next decade and beyond. At Jacobs we’re playing our part in leading this change for our clients and communities with the establishment and growth of our Rail Centre of Excellence.

We’re looking for a versatile Senior Rail Engineer to join our experienced and passionate rail team in Wellington. You will have the opportunity to work closely with our clients and create innovative rail and civil engineering solutions to help prepare for the future. You’ll be passionate about the role that rail has in the environment and the ongoing benefits in reducing emissions and congestion within our communities.

You’ll gain exposure to various stages of design work and construction across rail projects. Whether it be assisting on the design of key upgrades to the current rail network, providing services for rail electrification or the modernization of regional rail lines, you will be guided and supported by our experienced team. #LI-CK1 #TransportNZ #RailNZ

**Here’s What You’ll Need**:

- Appropriate qualification (e.g., Degree in Civil Engineering)
- Ability to collaborate with high performing project teams to deliver technically excellent, sustainable and resilient designs in civil, drainage and track.
- A consultant mind-set with the desire to win work and exceed client expectations.
- Experience working on projects within the rail engineering sector or general civil engineer experience with a desire to move into the rail space.
