**About the Role**

We have the opportunity available to join our team as a **Public Health Nurse - Whole of Life Vaccinator.** This role is a fixed-term position with a primary focus on childhood immunisation. The Fixed-Term period is 12-months from date of commencement in the role.

In this role you will support the Te Manawa Taki regional immunisation plan. Immunisation is promoted as a primary strategy for the prevention of communicable disease. You will work collaboratively with AIR administration team members deliver immunisation activity and ensure that vaccines are administered in accordance with local policy and procedures including the maintenance of cold chain.

**About the Team/Service/ Location**

The public health nursing team is part of the National Public Health Service (NPHS) within Health New Zealand - Te Whatu Ora, and work towards Pae Ora (healthy futures for all) by engaging with the wider determinants that impact people's health, focusing on oranga/wellbeing, prevention, protection, and population-level intervention. We are connected across boundaries to deliver public health services that are nationally planned, regionally delivered and locally tailored.

**About you**

You build and maintain positive relationships at all levels and model an agile approach, you learn quickly, adapt fast. You can utilise advanced nursing knowledge and skills through reflective practice, critical thinking and professional judgement to provide competent care and advice while working to top of scope.

**Skills and Experience**
- Current registration with Nursing Council of New Zealand as Registered Nurse and hold a current Annual Practising Certificate
- Current Authorised Vaccinator
- Full, New Zealand drivers' licence
- Hold a competent portfolio in an approved PDRP or equivalent with a commitment to continue through the programme
- Demonstrated ability to work within a multidisciplinary team environment
- Proven experience and competence using Patient Management Systems
