Head of Financial Reporting

Reporting to the GM Group Reporting, this is a fantastic opportunity to join a fabulous finance team as a senior member leading the financial reporting function within the global finance team.

You will develop a thorough understanding of the Xero business environment and strive to embed continuous improvement into Xero’s reporting. You will build strong relationships throughout the wider Finance team and business, and become a trusted advisor to the business and executive team.

**What you'll do..**:

- Manage and develop a team of accountants to drive continuous improvement.
- Develop Xero’s integrated reporting (including financial reporting) to respond to changes to the Group and the environment in which it operates.
- Ownership of the month end close process from end to end, while embedding efficiencies and improvements.
- Own the production of financial reporting to the Board, XLT and business, working in partnership with the Financial Planning teams and other areas to provide high quality clear and insightful information, and presenting monthly results to the executive.
- Manage the production of bi-annual external reporting commentaries and analysis that provide meaningful insight for investors and analysts into group financial and non-financial performance and the execution of Xero’s strategy, obtaining input from the business where appropriate.
- Ensure that documents produced conform to the high standards of accuracy and writing quality expected for this high-profile market communication, and is produced within the tight timeframes required.
- Analyse financial performance and in so doing contribute to medium and long-term business plans/forecasts.
- Lead the integration of acquisitions into Xero’s internal financial and non-financial reporting, and bi-annual external reporting commentaries.
- Provide advice on the technical and financial implications and consequences of business decisions.
- Strategic problem-solve and communicate around implications and risks of initiatives, both with regard to the delivery of reporting, but also to commercial analysis on the impact to of decisions (eg through the Global Sales Deals Desk).
- Participate in significant corporate or company-wide finance projects and initiatives as directed by the EGM - Financial Control and GM - Group Reporting.

**What you'll bring with you..**:

- 10+ years experience in senior finance roles, either in a large corporate or big 4 accounting firm.
- Strong understanding of accounting principles, standards and processes.
- Experience in leading teams.
- CA or equivalent qualification
