Being a housekeeper is a great way to learn how a hospital works and get a foot in the door to a world of opportunities.
You will be part of the team that contributes to the hospital running smoothly, whatever the time of day, or day of the year. You will make our hospital a place where people can get better safely, families can visit in comfort, and staff can do great work in a hygienic and safe environment.
This vacancy is in our **A**ssessment Treatment & Rehabilitation (AT&R)** unit at Nelson Hospital.
The role involves thorough cleaning throughout the AT&R unit as well as changing beds, and laundry and rubbish collection. You may also do the tea rounds, have contact with patients and support the nursing and orderly staff.
**The shift is rotational,** working 70 hours a fortnight.**
- ** Week 1**: Monday to Friday, 7.00am-1.00pm.
- **Week 2**:Monday to Friday, 10.30am-7.00pm.

In addition to hourly rates, we pay penal rates for evening (after 8.00pm) and weekend work, Kiwisaver and additional payments/time off if you are rostered to work on a public holiday. You will also be supported to get your qualification in Cleaning (NZQA Level 2 & 3).

This position would suit someone with experience in cleaning/customer service OR someone with no experience, but a passion for being part of a great team. To be successful in this role you must be reliable, have a positive attitude and consistently deliver a high-quality and customer-focused service. Full training will be provided.
