**About the Role**
At Pushpay, our Business Insights Analyst/Engineer conducts targeted data investigations to drive optimization and improvement of product development, marketing techniques and business strategies. You will work closely with business stakeholders, analyze data, create statistical models, provide input and suggest solutions for a variety of business problems. You will report directly to the Director of Analytics, will support multiple domains in our company including but not limited to supporting the product, marketing, and sales teams and work collaboratively with people from all levels of the organization.
**What You'll Do**
- Communicate with the business stakeholders to understand functional requirements for reporting
- Determine whether a request should be ad-hoc or ongoing reporting in partnership with business stakeholders
- Partner with data engineering to define technical requirements for automated extract transform load (ETL) procedures and appropriate Data Lake schema design within AWS
- Develop SQL scripts to transform data where necessary, create calculation logic, and statistical analysis aligned to the functional requirements defined by the business
- Create and update existing reporting using data visualization tools including Redash and Tableau
- Self and peer review to ensure consistent output quality and validate data
- Communicating in written and oral forums - progress, blockers and risks leveraging project management tools (e.g. JIRA)
- Support the Identification, prioritization and execution of tasks in the BI team backlog
- Take the initiative to identify and/or fix issues before being assigned them
- Be highly aware of the profound sensitivity of the nature of our data (specifically our Market Disclosure and PCI compliance requirements)
- Partner and collaborate on a daily basis with Data Scientists, Data Analysts, Data Platform Engineers, Software Engineers, Product, Finance and other parts of the business to review requirements and proposed solutions and provide input into these processes (which may include ideation, algorithms, models and processes)
- You will be involved in long term product and technology strategy (analysis, review and refinement) which includes contributing to forward looking design and strategy

**What You'll Bring**
- 2+ years of relevant experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience
- Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
- Ability to self-manage your tasks, time and the expectations you have set
- Generous with your time and knowledge, sharing and collaborating with others
- Ability to discusses work in both technical and business-impact terms
- Practical commercial knowledge of, and high proficiency with:
- Visualisation/presentation techniques and concepts (quantitative/categorical charting, geospatial mapping, dashboard layout/accentuation).
- Querying databases and developing stored procedures leveraging SQL and other data programming languages
- Extract data from cloud based data services (Redshift, Snowflake, Athena/Presto)
- Visualisation/presentation technologies (Tableau, Redash)
- Analyzing data from 3rd party providers (Google Analytics, Adwords, AWS Pinpoint)
- Familiar with cloud services (AWS S3, Redshift, Azure SQL, GCP)
- Some variety of task tracking system - e.g. Jira
- Some experience of Continuous Integration / Continuous Deployment practices and tooling.
