The Nuts and Bolts
About the Role
The role is based in a single location (Gloucester and involves shift work.
The 24x7 Data Centre Site Lead role undertakes operational and facility activity within the Data Centre. Coordinating scheduled and ad hoc tasks with the on-site Floor Technicians and Operators as well as actively undertaking tasks as set out by the 24x7 Operations Manager and 24x7 Facilities Engineers.
The Site Lead role is responsible for their site whilst on shift and supports maintenance activity by following Standard Operating Procedures and supervising maintenance contractors. Additionally, they are an on-site escalation, responsible for trouble shooting facility and customer issues in collaboration with the 24x7 Facilities Engineers and 24x7 Operations Manager.
The Site Lead role is expected to be an active role, including support for Data Centre Technicians undertaking customer or Data Centre work.
You must maintain a strong customer focus, obsessing over customer deliverables and demanding the highest standards in operational deliverables
What you’ll bring
Overall knowledge on how to coordinate and manage a small team’s workload.
- BMS, fire systems
- Understands and can implement best practice: Rack design o Hot/cold aisle o Efficient layout o Rack Cabling
- Has proficient knowledge of systems and hardware that will aid in the monitoring and evaluation of tasks.
- Good understanding of Health and Safety and compliance
- Project implementation
- Previous experience working in a Data Centre environment (racking & stacking gear, cable management, hot & cold aisle containment)
- Trouble shooting customer issues
- Able to deal with emergencies and conflict situations calmly and effectively.
- Extensive experience in operational efficiencies and operational process creation and reviews

**Responsibilities**:
This role is responsible for undertaking maintenance and operational tasks and acts as on-site supervision of the Data Centre Operations team who are actively engaged in the daily BAU running of our Data Centres
