**The Organisation**

The Timaru District Council aims to enable democratic local decision-making and action by, and on behalf of communities, to promote the social, economic, environmental, and cultural well-being of its communities in the present and for the future. With around 400 staff, there are a diverse range of roles from front facing community to support and technical specialists.

**The Role / Person**

Water is a critical service for our community, our environment and our economic success. It’s our district’s unsung hero. One essential component of our three waters is monitoring Drinking Water, Stormwater, and Wastewater services.

We are on the lookout for a talented Three Waters Compliance Officer to ensure that the wide-ranging compliance requirements for Three Waters Activities are met and that compliance monitoring and reporting is carried out promptly.

Responsibilities include monitoring, auditing, and reporting on compliance with Drinking Water Standards NZ, Resource Consents, Legal obligations, and Health & Safety.

You will be working as part of a mighty team while you also take on the new responsibility of actively monitoring Telemetry to ensure staff respond to all alarms and all required follow up actions are initiated.

Technical knowledge is what we’re after, plus the ability to build strong working relationships with key stakeholders internally and externally. Ideally, you will have a relevant 3 degree, preferably in relation to water, wastewater or stormwater.

The salary range for this role is $80,489 - $94,693 per annum.
