**Tēnei tūranga - About the Role**: We have an exciting opportunity for a Governance Secretariat to join the Tourism Evidence and Insights (E&I) team within MBIE's Evidence and Insights branch. You will be involved in supporting the provision of trusted tourism data and insights to support better decision making, long-term value gains and the sustainability of New Zealand’s tourism system.

As Governance Secretariat, you will provide administrative support to the Tourism team and its partnerships with other government agencies, regional councils, data providers and sector bodies.

Working closely with both a senior member, and the manager of the Tourism team, you will liaise with key stakeholders from the sector; scheduling meetings, preparing and distributing materials and meeting packages, drafting minutes and distributing follow-up communications. Processing invoices and payments is a part of the job; while assisting with the preparation of reports, memos and ministerial briefings may also be required from time to time.

- A sound understanding of government processes and public sector management practices.
- A proven track record of experience and achievement in providing personal and administrative support to managers and teams.
- Demonstrated agility in supporting multiple teams and responding to changes in priorities.
- Excellent communications (verbal and written) skills and a high level of computer literacy.
- Sound relationship management and active listening skills.
- Demonstrated ability in organising workflows and determining priorities.
- The ability to work under pressure and to analyse information and display sound judgement.
- Demonstrated understanding of information management, including the facilitation, quality assurance and distribution of documents.
- The capability to influence and persuade others to accept a view or action that promotes organisational success.
- Experience taking detailed minutes.
- A tertiary qualification in a relevant field and/or comparable relevant experience
