**About The opportunity | Ko te āheinga**:
As our new Senior Business Partner, you'll lead the management accounting function, working closely with Group Managers and budget holders across the organisation. You'll oversee crucial financial aspects of our Long Term and Annual Plan reporting processes, providing expert financial analysis, reporting, and strategic advice to senior leadership and Council. Your role will involve developing and delivering financial literacy training to enhance capability throughout the Council, as well as playing a key role in budgeting, forecasting, and variance analysis. Managing a team of Management Accountants, you'll foster a culture of continuous improvement and drive financial excellence across the organisation.

**About you | E pā ana ki a koe**:
We're seeking a qualified professional with a Bachelor's degree in Accounting or equivalent qualification, ideally a Chartered Accountant. You'll bring at least 5 years of senior accounting experience, along with excellent leadership skills.
- Strong analytical skills and proficiency in financial reporting systems
- Excellent communication and relationship-building abilities
- Ability to manage tight deadlines and work effectively under pressure
- Sound understanding of tikanga Māori and its relevance to Council functions
