About the opportunity
The Demand & VMI Planning Manager is responsible for shaping and owning the retail grocery demand forecasting process for the operational function of the National Planning team within Goodman Fielder New Zealand. This role also encompasses end-to-end ownership of Vendor Managed Inventory supply to retail grocery key accounts. This role is part of the Plan Leadership Team tasked with the development and implementation of a planning strategy to build a ‘Gold Standard' planning function to drive significant improvement through the IBP process.
Reporting to the Head of Planning, your key responsibilities will include:
Leading and managing a high performing team whilst contributing to and owning our roadmap to forecast excellence and best-in-class demand & supply planning processes.
Developing and improving an effective framework to drive alignment across multiple functions, channels, and categories, to build “one number” plans that set the signal and drumbeat for operational efficiency and outstanding customer service
Continuous improvement - leveraging analytics and tools to innovate within and, improve on our planning accuracy
- Ensuring effective inventory management and customer replenishment planning to maximize service fulfilment, reduce cost and maintain efficient use of working capital
- Developing and maintaining strong cross-functional relationships to deliver business targets, in particular with Retail Customers, Sales, Logistics, Manufacturing, and Finance

About You
- Proven experience and strength in end to end supply chain thinking
- Proven experience leading transformation projects related to demand planning
- An ability to identify best in-class and innovative ways of working, such as AI/Machine learning forecasting
- Proven experience in program and change management & an ability to lead others through change
- Competent in developing new generation tools and processes to improve forecast accuracy
- Advanced skills in data and analytics
- ERP knowledge experience
