As our Disaster Recovery BCP Specialist you will be accountable for the University's disaster recovery capability and IT Services business continuity plans.
You will be responsible for the continuous review, improvement, and quality assurance of the University's disaster recovery plan and business continuity plan to ensure that these remain effective and able to perform in a disaster situation and incorporates new processes, systems and technology developments as a result of the University digital strategy.
You will advise management by providing leadership as and when required to ensure that infrastructure services and business systems are adequately covered in the plans and there is adequately trained and skilled personnel to execute the plans during regular testing or a real-life scenario.

**Your key accountabilities**:

- Business continuity planning and development
- Disaster recovery management
- Operational/Technical support
- Project work

**Qualifications and experience required includes**:

- ideally at least five years of experience in the IT industry at an engineering level in a complex organisation
- experience in auditing technical and business services and associated infrastructure
- experience with prioritising work and managing resources in a disaster situation to ensure recovery objectives are met
- a proven track record of delivering quality projects and self-sufficiency in delivering assigned tasks
- experience working in a large, complex environment comprised of both cloud and on-premise infrastructure
- experience with DRP and BCP development and execution
- broad architecture experience with Windows Server and Linux operating systems, storage systems, databases and cloud-based solutions
- experience with process associated with Information Technology
- infrastructure Library (ITIL).
