**What you’ll be doing**:
The role of the Senior Claims Consultant is to provide a proactive and innovative service to Marsh clients ensuring that service level standards, claim processes and client expectations are met at all times.

**In this role, you will be responsible for the duties**:
**Claims Processing**:

- Process claims by compiling claims information to establish validity and substantiate payments.
- Input new claims data, estimates, payments and statistical data into the claims database.
- Appoint and liaise with external service providers including assessors and investigators.
- Receive telephone calls and action enquiries from clients, service providers, underwriters etc.

**Claims Settlement**:

- Review unsettled claims and revise estimates to ensure accuracy.
- Negotiate discounts wherever possible when negotiating claim settlements.
- Check fees for services are fair and reasonable.
- Admit claims and authorise payments within delegated authority.
- Represent JLT in Disputes Tribunal Hearings.

**Claims Reporting**:

- Provide claims history reports to account executives and management where required.
- Complete monthly large loss reporting to Claims Manager and Scheme Management.
- Complete fortnightly claims reporting requirements to insurers.

**Managing client relationships**:Keep management adequately informed as to progress and ongoing relationships with clients.

**Technical Knowledge**:Develop and maintain technical knowledge required to support client and business needs.

**General**:

- Any other ad hoc tasks as required.
- Contribute to the professional image of Marsh through high standards of personal and professional knowledge and presentation.

**Teamwork**:

- Provide process guidance, mentoring and training to other claims staff.
- Attend and contribute to Team meetings.
- Assist with review and ongoing development of claims process documentation and procedure manuals.
- Provide back-up for certain tasks in the Claims Manager’s absence.
- Assisting other Marsh staff when required, or as directed by the manager.

**Compliance**: Comply with Marsh compliance procedures, relevant Acts, legal requirements and ethical standards.

**Personal Training**:Complete all compulsory Marsh training modules.

**Organisational**:

- Understand Marsh’s trading environment, recent news and updates.
- Develop relationships with other Marsh specialist areas.

**Experience, Qualifications & Skills**:

- Formal insurance qualifications as required.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Developed People skills - ability to build and maintain relationships.
- Developed Communication skills.
- Developed Negotiation skills. 3
- Ability to work under pressure and possess an understanding of the importance to meet deadlines through effective time management.
- Pro-active - ability to anticipate clients’ needs and meet or exceed them.
- Problem solver - ability to recognise and solve problems for clients.
- Computer Literacy and Keyboard skills.
- Good presentation.
