We are looking for an experienced Restaurant Host (Maitre d'Hotel) to be the face and first impression in Harbour Society, our beautiful signature restaurant

This role requires you to be outgoing and a natural people person, used to multi task in a high paced environment. As a Maitre d'Hotel you are in charge of ensuring all our guests are well looked after, from the booking to the farewell as well as processing payments and ensuring a smooth service of the restaurant.

**RESPONSIBILITIES/ DUTIES INCLDUE**:

- In charge of the reservation system and table allocations
- Ensure that tables are allocated in such a way that no booking slot is overbooked, requests are accommodated and there is a good flow of the service
- Ensure all guests requests are relayed to the assistant restaurant managers and service team
- Greet, Seat or in any other way assist our guests
- Ensure all billing is accurate and correct monies are collected.
- Ensure thorough checks on shift banking and that correct cash handling procedures are followed.
- Ensure all discounts and non-sale checks are recorded properly
- Maintain the security of monetary floats and ensuring that cash handling procedures are strictly adhered to.
- Adhere to the department budget through the Purchase Order System and inventory controls.

**PERSON SPECIFICATION**
- Minimum 6 months experience in a similar role, preferably in an upscale/high volume outlet/hotel
- Minimum 6 months experience in a role involving processing payments
- Demonstrated experience working in an environment where you deal with multiple inquiries simultaneously
- A thorough understanding of luxury guest expectations and desire to meet these expectations.
- Experience in handling and resolving guest issues in a way that is satisfactory for all parties
- Good understanding of Micros, ResDiary and Microsoft Office.
- Organises time and work efficiently.
- Excellent numeracy, verbal and written communication skills, English essential
- Willingness to work weekends and public holidays as part of the job role.
- A passion for food, wine and the culinary arts that is knowledgeable and effusive.

**Salary**: $25.00 - $26.00 per hour
