ED/ADU is the gateway into the hospital and usually the start of a patient’s experience in the hospital. Our clerks are often the first person people engage with when coming into the hospital. If you are someone who likes to be part of a team and work in a fast-paced, ever changing environment, this role could be for you. Working across different shifts and in different areas of the Emergency Department also means there is variety in your work, as you interact with patients experiencing varying medical conditions and injuries as well as their families.

We are a 24/7 service and shift work is a big component of this role, so staff are required to work across the range of shifts.

While experience in dealing with patients in a health care environment would be preferable it is not essential as training will be provided. We are looking for the following skills:

- exceptional attention-to-detail skills
- excellent customer service and interpersonal skills
- excellent command of the English language
- ability to work to deadlines
- ability to work under pressure and with mínimal supervision
- initiative for problem-solving
- strong administration processing ability
- computer proficiency
- multi-tasking skills
- enjoy working as part of a team in a fast-paced, sometimes stressful, environment.
