The Cardiothoracic Department is a busy service responsible for delivering care to people who need us at a critical in their lives and the lives of the family and loved ones.

It is important that we are able to measure how we are doing when it comes to caring for our community and the region, and that we are able to compare ourselves to other centres in Australasia, so that we can be assured that we are doing well, and we can reassure others.

We are seeking to recruit a data manager to consolidate and improve our data capture and management practices. The focus of the role will initially be compliance with the data collection and reporting requirements but will in time also extend to other data collection and management activities more broadly.

This full time role will require on-site interaction with clinical staff in Cardiothoracic, a familiarity with clinical terms and settings, and competency with the use and development of database tools. We are able to offer flexible working hours and an interesting and vibrant working environment.

Required skills & experience you will need to be consider for this role:

- Knowledge and understanding of Te Tiriti o Waitangi
- Post Graduate qualification in related field or relevant work experience.
- Organisational and time management skills
- Attention to detail and high levels of accuracy.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Ability to use initiative
- Basic computer skills, office or clerical experience
- Data management experience in a clinical setting would be an advantage.
