**Job Description - Business Development Consultant**
The company are expanding and looking to grow into North America. In this role, you will be identifying and researching opportunities, building cases & campaigns, growing relationships with important stakeholders and gaining a deep understanding of customers’ needs to provide helpful solutions. This is not a typical business development role, patience and passion are key as working with government processes can be lengthy, however, the impact is significant Breaking into the North American market will be a challenge so passion will be paramount, and resilience is key.
**Key Responsibilities - Business Development Consultant**
- Identify and research potential opportunities to truly understand prospective customers’ needs. Customers appreciate that our client sells their product in a helpful manner, grounded in an understanding of their needs.
- Support the setup and management of campaigns, support locking in key meetings, asking great questions & assisting with running live demos.
- Build relationships with important stakeholders.
- Becoming an expert in your field and keeping up to date on legislation changes, news and the market.
- Maintain an accurate log of activity in CRM system.
**Job requirements - Business Development Consultant**
- A willingness to learn, you enjoy learning about niche things and constantly growing your knowledge.
- Confident - you aren’t afraid to approach and strike up conversations.
- Flexibility to work with staff in other territories, which can involve early starts or evening calls. This role will be focused on the North American market so there will be early calls.
- An undeniable passion for making a positive impact on democracy. You care about public policy and want to provide a product that will make a difference.
- A natural relationship builder. You get your energy from talking and actively listening to people.
- Experience in sales, customer service or involvement in university clubs/societies.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills with a strong ability to simply explain complex ideas.
- Flexible and adaptable mindset - no two days are the same
- You thrive working autonomously
