**About the role**

This is an exciting opportunity for experienced registered nurse to take on the challenge of a senior nursing leadership role at the Wairarapa Hospital. You will join a professional and dedicated team, and be supported with an orientation programme into this role.

Wairarapa Hospital serves a mainly rural population of around 48,000. Wairarapa Hospital has up to 92 beds and provides most secondary services including Acute Services with associated High Dependency Unit, medicine, surgery, paediatrics, obstetrics, and rehabilitation. The hospital campus includes Selina Sutherland Private Hospital.

The DNM team works in partnership with other staff - clinical and non-clinical - to ensure the safe, efficient and effective running of the hospital. This includes ensuring appropriate transitions of care for the deteriorating patient, coordination of resource utilisation, and upholding continuous quality improvement and standards of nursing practice.

The DNM demonstrates and applies a high level of clinical expertise either directly or by coaching and supporting junior staff, particularly after-hours.

This is a fixed term part time position for up to 6 months working 48 hours per fortnight (0.6 FTE) rostered and rotating shifts, the reason for the fixed term is to provide cover for another employee on secondment.

**About you**

Qualifications required for this position

New Zealand Registered Nurse qualification, including current APC.

Holds Level 6 NZRC, and APLS and Neonatal resuscitation, or undertake study to achieve.

Has achieved proficient level on the PDRP
