Dunedin, New Zealand Education Perfect Full time

Contributing directly to development, improvement and maintenance of the Education Perfect software platform, as needed
- Ensuring software meets all requirements of quality, security, maintainability, extensibility etc.
- Troubleshooting code level problems quickly and efficiently
- Proactively contribute to continuous improvement of the development processes and tools
- Software testing, including automated tests and manual testing, as required
- Create technical documentation for reference and reporting
- Other duties or responsibilities required at the discretion of your manager

**Requirements**:

- Expertise in one or more component-based frameworks from the JavaScript ecosystem (ideally React).
- Experience in evolving and implementing design systems.
- Experience with accessibility standards.
- Expertise in Typescript, JavaScript, CSS & HTML.
- Understanding of UX principles and intuition for great user experiences.
- Experience with automated testing.
- Familiarity with backend languages and frameworks (in particular C# /.NET / GraphQL) is a bonus
- Understands scaling, reliability, and maintenance trade-offs as they occur in practice
- Consistently helps new hires and more junior engineers to “level up” and become more proficient over time
- Offers demos, talks and recommendations to help their own team and others be more productive and ship better product
- Helps to continuously maintain and improve quality across the stack
- Performs regular interviews for positions on the same team, providing detailed and useful feedback. Takes on significant share of on call duties, 5Y review and other ‘housekeeping’ tasks
- Understands customer needs and motivations
- Understands how engineering projects contribute to business goals. Embraces iterative product development
- BSc/BA in Computer Science, Engineering, or related field
- Familiarity with Agile methodologies
- Ability to work independently and multi-task effectively
- Flexible and willing to accept a change in priorities as necessary
- Strong attention to detail
- Experience with software design and development in a test
- driven environment
- Knowledge of coding languages, frameworks, tools and systems of EP’s Technology Stack
- Ability to learn new languages and technologies
- Excellent communication skills
- Resourcefulness and troubleshooting aptitude
