The city is in a strong financial position and is committed to a number of key initiatives including the inner-city re-development, key community and infrastructure investments over the coming years and a continual focus on customer service and ongoing process efficiencies.
**About the Role**:
This is a new role reporting to the Chief Executive and supported by two direct reports.
The Business Transformation Lead oversees the implementation of the Council’s business enhancement programme ‘Our Council’. The programme will deliver a coordinated approach to connecting and enhancing the experience of customers, business partners and people through the use of technology and efficient business systems and processes. (The ‘Our Council’ programme is key to achieving the community outcome of ‘Embrace Change and Innovation’ as part of the Council’s Long term Plan.)
As well as the implementation of ERP system TechnologyOne, the five-year programme will deliver key outcomes such as improved online services for customers, seamless supply chain management and asset maintenance scheduling for business partners and enhanced tools, systems and processes for Council people, including implementation of an ERP system.
The role will work in partnership with the IS managers through the planning, execution and post-implementation phase, overseeing both the technical delivery and the change management aspects, while ensuring alignment with business objectives.
**The Ideal Person**:
An effective communicator, you will have an innate ability to take people on a journey, influencing, encouraging and supporting internal and external customers through the change processes.
Sensitive to the impact on people and culture, you will also ensure each initiative involves engaging and collaborating with stakeholders, fostering of strategic partnerships and achieving successful user buy-in.
You will also have experience in establishing an Organisational Portfolio Management practice, to provide visibility, prioritisation, governance and project management practices across the organisation.
In addition, you will have:
- A tertiary bachelor’s degree level qualification in Business Administration or similar
- A qualification in certified change management model/framework such as Prosci ADKAR
- Experience establishing and overseeing a Portfolio Management practice or similar
- A minimum 10 years’ experience in change and transformation leadership within a large and/or complex environment
- A minimum 15 years’ experience in project or programme management positions, ideally in information technology or corporate change projects
- Strong and proven current technical knowledge in information technology enterprise system change and implementation
- Sound public speaking and presentation skills, confidence and experience in dealing with people
- Strong digital and computer literacy skills
- Demonstrated commitment to the principles of the Treaty of Waitangi and an awareness of Māori perspectives and issues relevant to Māori.
Certification in PRINCE2 or PMP (Project Management Professional) and MPO is desirable, as is knowledge of, or experience in, the local government environment.
