- Do you have a passion for the environment and a desire to work on a variety of projects with a range of clients? We currently have an exciting opportunity available for a qualified Freshwater Ecologist who believes in better to join our experienced and talented Ecology team.
- Based in Auckland, you will work alongside a dedicated and close-knit team, assisting us in promoting 4Sight - Part of SLR’s purpose to make sustainability happen.Key Responsibilities

**What we need from you**
- 3-5 years’ experience in an Ecology related field
- A relevant tertiary qualification
- Strong New Zealand Ecology knowledge
- Experience in ecological effects assessment, management and restoration
- Experience in GIS would be beneficial but not essential
- Prior consultancy experience would be an advantage, but not necessary
- A drive to support the continued growth and development of an industry-leading ecological services team
- The right attitude and approach from someone who understands the importance of living our values

You will likely be experienced in scientific field work, technical reporting, and project management. You might already be a consultant, or maybe you are a DOC Ranger or Land Management Officer looking for a new opportunity where you can use your skills.

As a Freshwater Ecologist you will have experience in aquatic surveys (habitat assessments, SEV, etc.) and a good knowledge of New Zealand’s freshwater ecosystems and species.

Most importantly as a consultant filling one of these roles you will be an energetic and talented individual who acts with integrity. You will be able to competently work with our clients, local and central government agencies, the private sector, iwi/hapū, local community members and a wider range of experts in varying disciplines to deliver balanced outcomes for a range of projects from developments through to catchment-wide management and restoration strategies.
