Playing a vital role in contributing to the success of the University of Auckland as a vibrant and progressive University, the University of Auckland Property Services Division leads the delivery of Facilities Management and the Capital Programme for one of the country’s largest and most complex property portfolios.

Property Services mission is to ensure the University of Auckland is recognised locally, nationally, and internationally for having world class facilities and an environment that promotes excellence in teaching, learning, research, creative work, and administration.

An opportunity has arisen to appoint a new **Senior Finance Business Partner - Property Services**.

Reporting to the Head of Financial Business Advisory and supporting the Director Property Services, this is an exciting and rare opportunity to lead, manage and develop the Property Services finance function to support the objectives and strategic direction of the team. This is a key finance business partnering role that is accountable for financial strategy and building strong working relationships with senior stakeholders.

Some key responsibilities include:

- ** Strategy, Planning and Decision-making** including leadership of financial strategy to develop strategic and annual plans and oversight of Property Services business cases and concept papers.
- ** Staff Leadership** including staff development, mentoring and leadership of a culture that is inclusive, flexible and encourages excellence
- ** Operational Activities and Reporting** including leadership of budgeting and forecasting processes, compliance, and overall responsibility for the financial management of Property Services through effective KPI’s and reporting.
- ** Relationship Management** with a wide variety of stakeholders including Heads of Schools, Deans, Executives, Directors of Faculty Finance, Service Divisions, central finance, and other internal and external stakeholders.
- ** Continuous Improvement and Project Management** as directed by or in collaboration with the Director Property Services and Head of Financial Business Services, development of continuity plans, risk management and continuous improvement ideas and initiatives.

This is a fulltime (**37.5 hours/week**), permanent position

They will need to demonstrate proven relationship management strengths, with clear evidence of your ability to build successful business partnerships and drive strategic direction and effective service cultures. This is a senior leadership position and a unique role that requires strong skills in influencing and driving collaboration. High-level communication ability is essential, with verbal, written and interpersonal skills integral to success in this role.

In addition, the successful applicants will possess strong analytical ability coupled with an innovative and creative thinking style and robust business and technology acumen.
