Caltex Otumoetai is offering a Permanent full-time position for a cook with extensive cooking and baking experience.

**Job Description**:

- Monitor quality of food including food safety, flavour, portion size, presentation, etc.
- Ensure all food is prepared in a timely manner.
- Ensure all preparation work is done on time and in adequate quantities to meet service requirements.
- Create promotions to move stock or to add variety to the menu.
- Help price new menu items reflecting labour and material costs.
- Track stock levels and help with ordering stock.
- Identify stock suppliers to maintain the quality of produce received and the quality of product.
- Resolve issues with suppliers regarding lost/incomplete/wrong/poor quality orders.
- Supervise and monitor staff working in their relevant sections.
- Ensure cleanliness and hygiene in accordance with food regulatory standards.
- Ensure all food is stored correctly and safely, including dry stores, fridges and freezers.
- Resolve any customer/quality complaints when necessary.
- Instruct front of house/management staff on any relevant aspects, such as names of dishes and ingredients.
- Any other tasks as reasonably required.

Pay rate:
$27.00 - $30.00 per hour (based on experience & skills) and 3% Kiwi saver Employer contribution (if eligible).
Guaranteed hours of work per week: Minimum 30 hours.

Requirements for the job:

- At least 3 years of relevant work experience is required. Academic qualification will be an advantage but not necessary.
- Hard-working, reliable, and self-motivated individual
- Can work well and efficiently, both autonomously and within a team.
- Full-time availability, especially weekends.

Preference will be given to New Zealand citizens who have relevant work experience.
