**About the opportunity**
My client is an entrepreneurial and adaptable manufacturer of food products destined for both local and export markets. Their complex manufacturing environment offers considerable technical challenge for an experienced and versatile Maintenance Engineer.
If you are a practical, hands-on Engineer with a breadth of experience, coupled with initiative and drive, I’d love to hear from you.
**What will you be doing?**
This is a hands-on role. As part of a small team you will have responsibility for the day-to-day maintenance of the machinery (planned and unplanned) as well as ongoing improvement projects to ensure plant availability and increasing plant reliability and performance.
This is a single shift operation where you will be working a 45 hour week, Monday - Friday. The engineering team also typically works on Saturday morning to address any issues or outstanding preventative maintenance tasks. Overtime is paid at time and a half after 40 hours.
**Who are we looking for?**
- Ideally you will be a dual-trades Engineer, are a Mechanical Engineer with EST registration, or are keen to upskill.
- Experience with thermal processing or canning will be highly advantageous.
- Experience working in the food (or related) sector, and an understanding of Food Safety and H&S requirements.
- Ability to manage and prioritise multiple or conflicting priorities in a deadline driven environment.
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills.
- A common sense, practical approach to problem solving, in addition to a proactive can-do attitude.
