The City Rail Link (CRL) Project is a game changer for Auckland and the largest transport infrastructure project ever undertaken in New Zealand. The CRL is a 3.45km twin tunnel, transforming the dead-end station at Waitematā Station (Britomart), creating two new stations at Te Waihorotiu and Karanga-a-Hape and reconnecting to the network at a new Maungawhau Station.

**About the Role**:
The Maintenance Readiness Engineer will ensure railway assets are operational and maintainable before PC, collaborating with construction, T&C teams, subcontractors, and asset owners (Auckland Transport & KiwiRail) to prepare maintenance documentation, asset data, and operational procedures.

**_This is a fixed-term contract opportunity._**

**Ngā Haepapa |**Key tasks and responsibilities**:

- Deliver final Operation & Maintenance (O&M) manuals in line with contractual requirements.
- Assist with preventive maintenance to validate asset reliability before PC.
- Coordinate with Construction and Delivery teams to ensure the availability of tools, spare parts, and technical support.
- Support and maintain the Failure Reporting, Analysis, and Corrective Action System (FRACAS).
- Validate maintenance procedures, assist with SAP readiness, and support trial operations.
- Provide technical support to Auckland Transport and KiwiRail for documentation and training needs.

**Ou Pukenga | About You**
To succeed in this role, you will have:

- Engineering degree (or equivalent) in software, rail systems, or automation.
- 8+ years in major railway construction/O&M projects.
- 8+ years in Systems Engineering and Systems Validation.
- Extensive experience implementing Railway FRACAS and Handover processes.
- Expertise in systems configuration, migration, and database implementation.
- Strong collaboration skills with project teams and stakeholders.
- Knowledge of platform and field testing for communications systems.
- Experience with metro systems.
- Advanced Excel skills (VBA & Macros).
