Kōrero mō te tūranga | About the Role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a talented Payroll Manager to join us in the People and Wellbeing team. Within our shared services environment, the Payroll Manager is a leadership role within the team, working collaboratively to evolve our payroll offering while driving outcomes and activities to ensure that we deliver exceptional results for our customers.
**You will be responsible for working on the following**:
- Provide effective people leadership and enhance our people performance
- Manage the payroll function, its systems and processes
- Drive customer service improvements through self-service and automation
- Deliver process improvements that lead to increased efficiencies
- Resolve complex payroll issues, navigate requests and manage workflows
- Providing leadership, coaching and mentoring to the wider P&W team
- Leading cross team projects
This role involves managing a small team who deliver the end-to-end payroll process. You will oversee and work with others to identify opportunities for payroll process and system improvements.

**You will also bring**:
- A deep knowledge of payroll legislation and standards
- Delivery focused with solid payroll expertise and technical nous
- Experienced in cloud based payroll systems (preferred)
- The ability to lead, support and mentor our people to perform at their highest level
- Innovative thinker with a passion for continuous improvement
- The ability to understand customer requirements & deliver on agreed outcomes
- An inclusive, supportive and collaborative leadership style
- Highly organised with excellent time management
- Confident with exceptional relationship management skills
