**H2R** are currently looking immediately to talk to any senior/well tenured **Payroll Managers** who may be suitable for this newly arisen role at a Wellington organization based in the CBD near all forms of public transport.

**Important info**:

- Pay: from $135,000-150,000 per annum (base salary + Kiwisaver)
- WFH/Flexible, but due to the nature of managing a large team, you must be in the office for a large portion of the week.

The purpose of the Payroll Manager role sits within the HR Team. You are responsible for leading the organization’s payroll function, which includes the fortnightly payroll.

This role is responsible for ensuring that the execution of customer focused operations is accurate and timely, and for the delivery of reliable and effective payroll services to its customers, managers and employees.

In addition, the role is responsible for managing and developing the Payroll Team to deliver a high-quality service of payroll to the organization.

**Specific accountabilities and deliverables**:
**Service Delivery**:

- Manage the delivery of the fortnightly payroll for the organisation
- Ensuring salaries and wages are processed and paid accurately and on time as per the employment conditions of the companies IEA, CEA and all relevant legislation.
- Support of the time and attendance management system (currently TimeTarget), including importation of accurate and complete time record data into payroll and manager support and training
- Responding to a wide range of payroll-related queries and providing guidance on payroll issues.
- Working with Finance to ensure that all financial and GL information required by the finance team is timely and accurate
- Ensuring the company complies with all payroll, employment, awards, holidays and tax related legislation in New Zealand and Australia, including maintaining knowledge of all relevant legislation in both countries and keeping up to date with any amendments
- Protecting the privacy of payroll data and employee records at all times
- Liaising with the payroll system providers as required
- Assist with the preparation of payroll related correspondence
- Assisting and supporting remuneration and benefit related activities as needed
- Perform day-to-day activities related to the HRIS, including management of the organisational structure and ensuring employee and position records are up to date at all times
- Maintain data accuracy and integrity

**Stakeholder Management and Communication**:

- Develop and maintain effective personnel and stakeholder relationships with internal and external stakeholders, focusing on a whole of organisation approach and management of risk
- Work with the P&C team to collaborate with other managers across the organisation
- Work with internal Groups and stakeholders to develop & implement appropriate communications related to payroll, keeping stakeholders engaged and informed

**People Management**:

- Lead the Payroll team in a manner that is customer focused, proactive and consistent with the organisation’s values
- Provide coaching and mentoring to team members ensuring that they remain abreast of changes in the payroll field and that payroll staff development plans are aligned with the P&C Work Programme
- Provide effective leadership and management of the payroll team ensuring they operate effectively as a team and maintain a culture of continuous improvement
- Ensure payroll team are recruited, managed and developed using employment best practices consistent with polices and processes
- Building strong relationships with the People and Culture team in respect of payroll processes and procedures and contribute to of a fully integrated P&C function
