Human Resources Analyst
Reporting directly to the VP of People and Culture, this role plays a critical role in supporting our People (Human Resources) team by utilizing data-driven insights to inform strategic decision-making. We have an excellent set of HR tools, but not a centralized HRIS, so this role plays a key role in ensuring all of our HR tools and our two payroll systems are integrated and aligned with consistent data inputs.
You will be responsible for collecting, merging, analyzing, and interpreting HR data to provide accurate reporting, dashboards and insights to the HR and Leadership team.
You will be the data expert for the People team. We are a global company currently operating in New Zealand and the United States. We use Google Workspace, so most (if not all) of the analysis work will be completed in Google Sheets versus Excel. We operate in a hybrid model being in the office three days per week with the flexibility to work from home two days per week.
**What You'll Do**
- Database Management_
- Maintain internal data within our People team tools. Ensure data is consistently collected, reported and is aligned between separate unintegrated tools.
- Data Analysis and Reporting_
- Own headcount reporting and analysis.
- Collect and prepare monthly HR reporting for the Leadership team and Board of Directors.
- Drive consistency with data inputs Gather and analyze HR data, such as total compensation data, employee turnover, recruitment metrics, employee engagement, exit surveys and workforce demographics.
- Create comprehensive reports, dashboards, and visualizations to present key HR metrics to the People team and the Pushpay leadership team.
- Identify trends, patterns, and anomalies in HR data and provide insights to guide people related strategies and initiatives.
- Partner with other departments to provide month end and quarterly HR based reporting.
- Compensation and Benefits_
- Oversee the data aspect of our compensation framework by pulling and analyzing market data (currently using Radford) and refreshing our internal ranges.
- Continually simplify and improve our process for managing salary ranges for each role by location.
- Compliance_
- Lead and own data gathering for HR related audits.
- Monitor compliance with HR policies and regulations.
- Ad Hoc Projects_
- Collaborate on special HR projects and initiatives as needed.
- Provide analytical support for HR-related projects and decision-making processes.
- Tooling_
- Help participate in maturing our toolset and improving our processes as needed, including any potential additions of an HRIS.
**What You'll Bring**
- Skills and Abilities_
- Experience in Google Suite (Google Sheets, Docs, and Slides) or an interest in learning the tools (if you're strong with Excel, this can happen easily). Although we occasionally use Excel for complicated analysis, our main dashboards and reporting are all completed in Google Sheets to take advantage of the vast collaborative features of the tool.
- For example, being comfortable with SQL is a desired level of experience. Experience with Tableau is an added advantage.
- Thrive in a fast-paced, growth environment. Loves new challenges and building and improving on current outputs and processes.
- Driven to constantly improve the status quo. Desire to build, develop and grow an HR Operations function.
- Prefer to roll up your sleeves and dig into it all.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to review data, recognize trends and propose simple solutions.
- Use analytical and problem solving techniques to identify root causes.
- Strong presentation building skills (e.g. can create a presentation in Google Slides for executive level review).
- Excellent written communication skills.
- Excellent verbal communication skills are a plus.
- Extreme attention to detail.
- Proven ability to self-manage priorities and deadlines.
- Background Requirements_
- Minimum 3-5 years related experience required, with a focus in Shared Services, HR Operations or HRIS roles
- Experience owning or working closely with multiple types of HR tools
- Specializes in the principles and practices within HRIS/HR Operations/Shared Services
