**Mō te tūnga | About the role**
In this role you will be supporting our tāngata in our whare based in Kamo. This is a really busy whare that has three residential tāngata.
You will be part of a team who do amazing work with our tāngata that have complex needs; it is both challenging and rewarding and you will make a tangible difference to the lives of the people you support. Our tāngata lead busy, active lives which may include attending day services classes, formal functions, gym classes, swimming and visiting whanau. **The roster includes working days, evenings, sleepovers and weekends.**
**Ko wai koe | About You**
**You may not have previous experience but you enjoy supporting those around you in your own life, you are the ‘go to' support person and you are naturally drawn to helping others.**
You may have significant life experience which includes caring for a loved one; you may be tired of manual labour and looking for something more fulfilling; you may be retired or now able to work around other whanau commitments. You may even be studying and just starting out in your career.
We encourage male applicants for this role due to the demographic of our tangata and existing kaimahi in the whare.

Your skills will include:
- Working with diversity;
- A wide range of communications skills;
- The ability to set goals and work towards them;
- **A good level of physical fitness and mobility;**
- Prior experience with manual hoist/support of high wheel chair users (advantageous)
