In 2020, the Government launched the Three Waters Reform Programme to improve the health and wellbeing of New Zealanders. Part of this programme includes the establishment of a National Transition Unit (NTU), which will execute Government’s Three Waters reform in a consistent, consultative, and coordinated manner. Specifically, the NTU will also:

- Advance the Government’s reform objectives in a way that supports successful adoption of the reform,
- Ensure reform objectives are supported by a smooth transition and implementation approach that is efficient, effective and minimises disruption to communities and consumers, and
- Leverage the transition for strategic transformation opportunities.

Currently the NTU is seeking to appoint a Communications Manager. Reporting to the Head of Communications, this position will lead a team of Senior Comms Advisors and will provide thought leadership and strategic advice for the planning, development and implementation of omni-channel integrated communications strategies.
- Experience mentoring, supporting and developing others
- Senior-level strategic communications experience
- Digital communications knowledge
- Experience and knowledge across all communications channels
- Strategic and stakeholder engagement
- Central or Local Government experience would be advantageous
- The ability to think strategically and act tactically
