The Intelligence Community Shared Services support the Government Communications Security Bureau (GCSB) | Te Tira Tiaki and the New Zealand Security Intelligence Service (NZSIS) | Te Pā Whakamarumaru in the achievement of individual and joint agency strategic and operational outcomes.
The role
We have a fantastic opportunity for a Manager of International Engagement to support both the GCSB and NZSIS. Responsible for strategic policy advice in an international context, you will enable the agencies to maximise and strategically align their international engagement effort.
You will be responsible for strategic thinking and policy advice on matters relevant to the agencies' international relationships, including meaningful connections with other New Zealand Government agencies. With a strong understanding of strategic context, you will oversee service delivery and logistics support that meet the agencies' operational needs. Highly varied, the role presents exciting opportunities to connect strategy with implementation through a prioritised work programme that advances the interests of each agency.

Who we're looking for
This role will require you to draw on your excellent relationship building skills to ensure that stakeholders and your advice are well-informed. You will be a strong conceptual thinker and a proven people manager. You will ideally bring:
Experience in an operational environment, managing organisation-wide systems and processes.
Strategic policy experience in an international context.
A problem solving and continuous improvement mindset.
The ability to manage competing priorities, using sound judgement to implement solutions to complex and ambiguous problems.

**You must**:
Have been a New Zealand Citizen for at least 10 years
OR
Hold a current NZ Residency Class Visa and ideally have been a citizen of the UK, USA, Canada or Australia for at least 10 years
Be eligible to obtain a Top Secret Special (TSS) security clearance
Ordinarily, this means you'll have a 15 year checkable background in countries NZSIS Vetting can make meaningful and reliable checks.
