Te Mana Rangahau is a specific team within the wider Customer Insight team who are passionate about the wellbeing of whānau, hapū, iwi. The team is committed to gathering the voice of whānau Māori to inform strategic decision-making at Inland Revenue. The team's efforts are focused on the delivery of IR's Māori Research and Evaluation Work Programme by following kaupapa Māori research principles and building and maintaining meaningful connections within Te Ao Māori.

Mō te tūnga - About the role
We are looking for someone to join the Customer Insight team to lead and develop Te Mana Rangahau and its Māori Research and Evaluation Work Programme.
**In this role you will**:
- work alongside Customer Insight's Domain Lead, Technical Lead, and other Domain Principals to contribute to the delivery of the wider team's strategic priorities and outcomes
- ensure that customer insights are generated from a Te Ao Māori starting point, and guided by tikanga Māori based systems, beliefs, and values
- coach and mentor programme and project team members to ensure effective understanding and delivery of rangahau Māori
- build and maintain an understanding of internal and external stakeholders' current and future needs
- provide thought leadership and articulate views to support Māori outcomes often challenging assumptions, the status quo, and customer truths.
Mōu - About you
**To be successful in this position you will have**:
- experience leading and delivering work programmes with evidence of strong project management capability, including WBS and critical path mapping
- experience navigating comfortably in and with Te Ao Māori, Tikanga Māori, and Te Reo Māori
- strong traditional and market research background delivering end to end rangahau Māori projects using qualitative, quantitative, and mixed methods. This includes experience solving business problems through a consultancy (ie agency and client) co-delivery model
- a deep understanding of and experience working within the machinery of government, especially regarding the Crown-Treaty context. This may include experience partnering and sourcing AoG service providers
- experience using informal leadership to lead networked teams to deliver their work commitments
- excellent communication skills and the ability to share your research and evaluation expertise with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders
- a natural ability for storytelling.
