As Infrastructure Plant Manager, you’ll take charge of KiwiRail’s essential plant and equipment, managing their entire lifecycle from acquisition to maintenance and disposal. You’ll lead a skilled team to ensure our assets support key national and regional infrastructure projects, driving operational excellence and safety.

**Key Responsibilities**:

- Lead, motivate, and develop a high-performing team of operators and maintainers.
- Oversee the allocation and deployment of plant assets to meet infrastructure demands.
- Ensure all equipment meets safety regulations and compliance standards.
- Manage maintenance programmes, optimise resource use, and drive standardisation across regions.
- Collaborate with internal teams, contractors, and regulatory bodies to enhance service delivery.

You are an experienced leader with a strong background in plant and equipment management within a complex, safety-critical environment. Your ability to balance strategic planning with hands-on operational leadership will be key to your success.

- Proven experience managing equipment or assets in a high-risk industry.
- Strong leadership and people management skills, with the ability to inspire and develop teams.
- Deep understanding of safety, compliance, and operational best practices.
- Financial acumen, including budget management and cost-saving initiatives.
- Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills.
- A proactive, problem-solving mindset and the ability to manage complexity.
