Robert 89 Limited operates a popular Vietnamese street-style eatery in a Wellington shopping centre food court. Our menu includes pho, bun bo hue, banh mi, bao buns, rice bowls, noodle salads, and rice paper rolls. We also provide function catering for parties and gatherings.

**Job Summary**

We are seeking three skilled and passionate Cooks to join our team. The role involves preparing daily menu items for customers, while also contributing to occasional catering functions for parties and companies.

**Key Responsibilities**
- Examine food ingredients to ensure quality and freshness.
- Regulate cooking equipment such as ovens, grills, and woks.
- Prepare and cook a variety of dishes including noodles, rice bowls, soups, banh mi, and bao buns.
- Season food during cooking to maintain authentic flavour and consistency.
- Portion and present meals with garnishes, sauces, and accompaniments.
- Store food and ingredients safely in temperature-controlled facilities.
- Prepare food to meet special dietary requirements when required.
- Maintain hygiene and food safety standards at all times.
- Assist in organising daily food preparation schedules.
- Assist with function catering for parties and gatherings, including preparing bulk dishes and helping design simple function menus with food budgeting.
- May provide basic training to junior kitchen staff or apprentices.

**Requirements**:

- NZQF Level 2 or 3 qualification in cookery OR at least one year of relevant cooking experience (ANZSCO Skill Level 4).
- Hands-on experience in food preparation and cooking.
- Strong teamwork skills and attention to detail.
- Ability to follow recipes consistently and work under pressure.
- Availability for rostered shifts, including evenings and weekends.
- Commitment to hygiene and food safety standards.

**What We Offer**
- **Hourly Rate**: $25 - $27 per hour (gross)
- The role is based on an assured 30-40 hours a week.
