Chinese Cook wanted in Wellington City

**We open 7 days a week to late, please be aware that you may need to work on nights and weekends.**

**You will work 30-40 hours per week on roster, minimum 30 hours guarantee, with hourly rate $28.00.**

**You must have at least 1 year relevant work experience in cooking Chinese meal in commercial kitchen, or a relevant NZ recognised qualification in cookery at level 2 or higher.**

Main duties include: preparing and cooking Chinese food on our menu, seasoning food during cooking, examining foodstuffs to ensure quality, regulating temperatures of cooking equipment, storing food in temperature controlled facilities, preparing food to meet special dietary requirements, portioning food, placing it on plates, and adding gravies, sauces and garnishes, assisting in menu designing, assisting in selecting and training staff, assisting in ordering food supplies, and any other duties that may assigned by the head chef.

**We expect you to have the following attributes**:

- Having the skills and knowledge to operating Chinese wok and knife;
- Having a good understanding and knowledge about the cuisines we are providing;
- Having the skills to prepare and cook the full range of the dishes on our menu;
- Being able to fulfil the full range of cook duties in a commercial kitchen;
- Being willing to work diligently in a high standard.
