To help us bring our vision for Portainer to life, we're searching for expressions of interest from skilled and ambitious DevOps Engineers who will work directly with our clients, and ensure Portainer is delivering our promise for simplified container management.

**About the role**

As a member of the Product Engineering Team, you will take ownership of Portainer’s DevOps processes taking responsibility for the development, maintenance, and enhancement of Portainer’s internal infrastructure systems, and processes. You will also learn and become skilled in the Portainer app, with the objective of becoming competent in using and advising on the Portainer solution.

**Key Responsibilities**

Automation of Internal Platforms (Dev and Sales/Demo)
- Ownership, development, and ongoing maintenance/ enhancement of the following Portainer systems.
- The CI/CD automation toolset (Azure DevOps, GitHub Actions), including the mechanism for creating multi-arch Docker container images and the ephemeral QA environments used for testing across different public clouds and on-premises.
- The testing and sales demonstration platforms in Windows and Linux (AMD and ARM) variants, including automated creation and deletion of stateless testing landscapes spanning Docker, Docker Swarm, and Kubernetes.
- Establishment, maintenance, and ongoing enhancement of the internal testing platforms (currently self-hosted VMware), including automated creation/deletion of stateless testing landscapes spanning Docker, Docker Swarm, and Kubernetes, in both Windows and Linux variants.
- Maintenance of the Helm charts, Kubernetes manifests, and Docker Compose and Stack files that allow users to deploy Portainer, including the “convenience scripts”.
- Maintenance of the public cloud Marketplace offers.
- The Portainer.io infrastructure (currently composing API servers, downloads CDN, license server, demo site, and documentation site).
- Ownership and ongoing maintenance of the Portainer.io container image repository (currently Docker Hub).
- Establishment, maintenance, and ongoing enhancement of the internal Cloud subscriptions (currently, Azure subscriptions, Digital Ocean Subscriptions, AWS Subscriptions).
- Management of Third-party add-ons.
- Assist Product team by performing real world use cases and report findings.

Level 1/2 Support
- Once experienced in the Portainer app, you will provide occasional support as needed in the Portainer Community Slack channel and other social media channels.
- Escalate identified bugs and the underlying root cause to the product and development team for entry to the backlog.

**Requirements**:
For this to be the right job for you, you'll need to have:

- Experience working with microservices and container technologies (Kubernetes is the priority, but Docker knowledge/experience is also a benefit).
- A solid understanding of software configuration management and DevOps processes.
- Environment provisioning and management (Linux and Windows) and scripting language experience (Shell, Perl, etc.).
- Experience supporting technical customers (internal or external), ideally with support ticket systems.
- Strong knowledge of software development processes and tools, along with proficiency in various programming languages and scripting.
- Proficiency in CI/CD tools (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI/CD), configuration management tools (e.g., Ansible, Chef, Puppet), and infrastructure-as-code tools (e.g., Terraform).
- Knowledge of monitoring tools (e.g., Prometheus, Grafana) and logging systems (e.g., ELK stack) to ensure the health and performance of systems.

**Should haves**:

- Experience with Portainer is a huge plus, but full training will be provided.
- BS degree in Computer Science/Engineering or related field (not essential).
