**Mō te tūranga | About the role**

Experienced engineering leader focused on coaching tribe members, colleagues and engineers across the business towards world leading levels of engineering capability, product focus and culture.

**Partner with the business**

Work collaboratively with the Tribe Lead & wider Business Hub Leadership to ensure engineering is focused and aligned with critical run and change initiatives.

**Creating & safeguarding engineering culture & practices**
- Participating in planning, definition, and high-level design of solutions.
- Working with CL and/or squad members to ensure support model is considered and modelled
- Supporting squads in adhering to WNZL’s architecture & engineering governance and control processes.

**Drive DevOps maturity**

Drive an engineering culture of continuous improvement (CI) based on data, automation, and customer focus.
- Manage cross-tribe technological interdependencies and seek efficiencies at every level.
- Support squads during release preparation & planning.
- Ensure technical debt and impacts are visible.

**Develop people & craft**:
Collaborate with peer TAL, SGO and CALs to build our contribution model towards ensuring WNZL builds and maintains the necessary technology competencies for now and the future of engineering capability.
- Support the embedding of IT performance metrics.
- Continuously improve the diversity and resilience of our teams.

**Technology**
- Cloud Serverless focus and knowledge essential.
- Azure Expert Level Certifications in Solution Architecture, D365/Power Platform beneficial
- DevOps & Observability experience essential and its role in Modern Engineering practice, including Knowledge of:

- Terraform (IAC)
- Cloud Native Monitoring
- Azure DevOps
- Jenkins CI/CD
- Kubernetes
- SonarQube
- EasyRepro
- Automated Test Suites
- Familiarity with Enterprise Architecture and Full Stack Development essential, experience in either is beneficial

**Methodologies**
- Understanding of Data Driven & Fusion Development methodologies highly beneficial
- Understanding Data Protection & Security especially with Customer Data is beneficial

**People & Culture**:

- Experience leading a large number of highly experienced, skilled engineers is essential
- Talent Identification and Team building essential
- Leading diverse teams - nationalities, genders, contractors and permanents is crucial
- Ability to empathise and understand an engineer's psychology is important
- Experience in building & sustaining a Growth Mindset / Continual Learning is important
- Ability to create/Encourage Special Interest groups and Craft and role in Engineering Purpose is beneficial

**Technology, Risk, Compliance & Commercials**
- Enterprise experience, dealing with and negotiating with third party Organisations/Parties is essential (Talent, Consulting, Software, Cloud, Licensing, Partnership eg Infosys, Publicis Sapient, Microsoft)
- Banking Compliance including SOX is beneficial
- SAM familiarity & understanding is necessary
- Role of RAID and Risk as a feature that protects Customer, End-Users and Organisation is beneficial
