**About The Role**:
Based in Christchurch this newly created position is a critical role to the business success of Telfers. Working closely with the Managing Director and senior leaders across the full spectrum of the human resources portfolio, a key focus will be on coaching leaders to grow capability and increase their effectiveness as people leaders. This role supports Branch Managers and team leaders to ensure their decisions and people practices promote the company values and continue to shape a positive culture.

You will:

- Develop and implement HR infrastructure and initiatives aligned with business strategy
- Provide sound generalist operational HR advice across the branches
- Support and work closely with the MD, becoming a trusted advisor to people leaders within the business
- Lead organisational development & people initiatives, meeting current & future needs of the business
- Manage projects such as coordinating rem reviews, developing an emerging leader’s talent development programme and other initiatives that foster culture, attraction, and retention
- Partner with people leaders across the business with health & safety, acting as a role model for all safety initiatives and programmes.

**Skills & Experience**:

- Be a passionate HR professional with experience in a similar HR BP generalist role.
- Have sound understanding of employment legislation and HR best practice across the range of HR disciplines.
- Be collaborative, caring, pragmatic and happy rolling up their sleeves.
- Enjoy a hands-on operational role in a non-corporate environment and have a passion for OD.
- Be a true “people person” with outstanding influencing and interpersonal skills.
- Be someone who is confident and skilled to establish a brand-new HR function in this business.
