About the role
This is an excellent opportunity to be part of the Smartly product development team here at Datacom as an intermediate QA Tester.
**Responsibilities**:
- Perform functional testing based on business requirements and acceptance criteria, across a range of areas - Front end/UI, database, API, regression & smoke testing.
- Develop & execute comprehensive test plans against developed features and components. Identify and report defects, work with the team to resolve.
- Ensure test environments are an accurate representation of the client environment. Use test data and environments in strict accordance with all internal and customer security and auditing standards.
- Be part of the solution - actively contribute to team discussions, raise ambiguities, provide ideas, share experience and expertise.
- Take responsibility for estimating, planning, and progress reporting on your tasks and ensure they are done quickly and accurately.
- Ensure documentation is kept to a high standard. Create and maintain comprehensive documentation of customer functionality, test standards and procedures.
- Acquire and analyse relevant documents for assigned projects to determine testing requirements. Contribute to high level planning and analysis.
- Liaise with Product Owners, Project Managers, Business Analysts, Developers and other associated roles to work towards agreed outcomes, providing testing method and QA guidance.
- Work with team to generate test reporting documentation to provide the business with quality metrics.
- Guide and mentor junior team members as work is planned and delivered.
What you'll bring
- Proven analytical and problem-solving skills
- A strong background in software testing with 3+ years' experience in a testing role
- Proven experience using SQL Server Management Studio for analysis and testing
- Proven experience using SDLC and testing tools such as Azure DevOps, Jira, Browserstack, Saucelabs
- Knowledge of Quality Assurance best practices, latest methodologies and tools
- Ability to contribute to developing the software testing skills and knowledge within the wider team
- Knowledge of CI/CD and DevOps best practices is desirable
- Proven ability to deliver quality results in a busy and dynamic business-focused environment
- Proven ability to work independently as well as effectively within a team
- Ability to organise, plan and deliver your assignments in a professional manner with mínimal supervision
- A passion for learning and continuous self-improvement, and sharing knowledge and experience with others
