**About the role**:
LabCare Pathology has a vacancy at Taranaki Base Hospital where we provide a 24 hour a day - 7 days a week Pathology service.

Applications are invited for a permanent full-time 1.0 FTE (80 hours per fortnight) position as a Medical Laboratory Technician/Trainee.

Following training you will become part of a team covering our roster which includes the disciplines of Biochemistry, Haematology, Microbiology, Molecular Biology, Transfusion Science, Point of Care Testing and Specimen services.

**About you**:
The successful applicant will demonstrate the following attributes:

- A relevant qualification as a Medical Laboratory Technician or completed BSc to allow registration with the Medical Science Council (or be prepared to commit to gaining a registrable qualification)
- Laboratory technical skills and scientific knowledge (or desire to learn)
- Phlebotomy experience (or desire to learn)
- A proven ability to work in a team environment
- Excellent communication skills.
- Excellent time management skills
- An interest in science and healthcare
