**About the role**
In this role you be responsible for working alongside communities, organisations and internal business units in key settings that provide a platform for increased participation in recreation, sport and play by Hutt City residents.
Key responsibilities include
- Supporting and enabling sport/community groups to lead physical activity events and opportunities
- Leading, enabling and supporting the delivery of community pilots which promote and encourage innovation of our recreation, sport and play system
- Leading key events and programmes in the sport and recreation space
- Engaging with the community to identify needs, conceptualise, develop and implement programmes
- Supporting Council wide initiatives within the event and outdoors portfolios
**About You**
The successful applicant will possess
- Proven experience in the sport and/or recreation field
- Excellent communication, relationship building and interpersonal skills
- Finely tuned facilitation and project management skills
- Strong ability to multitask
- Current drivers' licence
The following is advantages, though not essential
- Relevant tertiary qualification i.e., sports science/recreation/community
- Experience in engaging with Mana Whenua
